VICTORIA TENNIS PROGRAMS & ACADEMY

In Kenya and in other developing countries, tennis has been invariably known as a game for the affluent cadre of the society thus the underprivileged children and youths for years have not embraced the beautiful game. This can be plausibly be attributed to rigid and selfish domestication of the game by elite African’s who were inducted, in a very privileged way to the great game by the colonialist.

The scenario has regimented tennis exclusively as a preserve for the rich.High profile academies and high cost of educational institutions continue to patronize the game possessively. Victoria Tennis Programs & Academy has mainstreamed concerted effort to the underprivileged, a cause which will on course accessibility of the game by slum children and youth.Victoria Tennis Programs & Academy Project has been established by Amani Na Upendo Development Group an organization mainstreaming and promoting tennis for the poverty-pockets in Kisumu City in its environs and promoting education of the less fortunate and orphaned children.

Our core business and shared value shall be identifying, develop, nurture and expose talents in tennis, highly potential amongst the poor and disadvantaged.Victoria Tennis Programs & Academy aims at cascading tennis to the underprivileged majority of children from its physical base of Pandpieri Primary School, Migosi SDA Primary School, Kapsoya Primary School, Kosawo Primary School and Migosi Primary School. The strategic focus is to engage professional coaches and technical managers to run training clinics for school children daily in the evening after school hour.

The bigger picture is to roll out tennis to the promising beneficiaries. The dream will come true because on the ground it was manifested itself that tennis is unstoppable like river Nile. The founding initiates are already racketing themselves to the top in local and national competitions. The eye is set on international exposure. We shall tailor our strategic plan in an open ended perspective which will be subject to the annual preview and partnership support
